SUMMARY:November 2024 – Cup of Coffee with Kyra Gaasbeek
DESCRIPTION:Connecting to your genetics and Connecting to your clients using cheirology traits💫 \nby Kyra Gaasbeek \nKyra\, born in the Netherlands\, was introduced to Kinesiology at the age of 12 by her mother\, a seasoned physical therapist and kinesiologist. Despite the limited recognition of Kinesiology at the time\, Kyra pursued a career in occupational therapy and psychiatry before rediscovering her passion for Kinesiology through Andrew D. Verity in Australia. She completed her training in NeuroTraining and began teaching Kinesiology seminars globally. Alongside Kinesiology\, Kyra also delved into other therapeutic modalities like Cranio-sacral therapy and Trauma therapy. She developed a strong interest in Cheirology\, the study of the hand’s shape and its relation to personality\, and created the “Language of the Hand” workshop to help individuals and clients understand themselves better through their genetic traits. Kyra’s goal is to communicate Kinesiology in a clear\, accessible way and to connect both practitioners and clients to their intrinsic knowledge. \nBook your place here \n  \nMore About Kyra \nKyra\, born in Winterswijk\, the Netherlands\, was only 12 years old when she was first introduced into the world of Kinesiology. Guided by her mother\, a physical therapist for 50 years\, as well as a kinesiologist for at least 30 of those years\, she received her initial training in this field.  \nKyra accompanied her mother to all seminars\, serving as her “guinea pig\,” which provided her with intense first-hand experiences in the field.  \nHowever\, she also witnessed that Kinesiology wasn’t widely recognized as a therapy by society at the time\, despite her mother’s expertise. Consequently\, she decided to pursue a career as an occupational therapist and worked in psychiatry\, experiences that continue to be invaluable to her to this day. \nAfter studying Social Work in Enschede\, Kyra moved to Australia at the age of 22\, where she spent a year studying psychology. It was through Andrew D. Verity\, a Kinesiologist\, Naturopath\, and NLP trainer\, that she rediscovered her passion for Kinesiology. She completed a full education in “Educating Alternatives” (now NeuroTraining) and assisted Andrew during his courses in Australia and Europe. Soon\, she began translating for him\, uncovering her love for teaching in the process.  \nIn 1995\, Kyra started teaching Kinesiology seminars\, initially in “Blueprint” following Andrew Verity’s methods\, and later added many other Workshops in various  countries (Australia\, Germany\, Belgium\, Switzerland\, Norway\, Spain\, Italy\, South Africa). She also teaches seminars in RESET TMJ® 1 and 2 (based on Philip Rafferty’s methods). \nAs a translator\, she delves into other therapeutic modalities such as Cranio-sacral therapy (part of Osteopathy)\, Trauma therapy (based on Dr. Francine Shapiro’s work)\, and has extensively studied Color Diagnostics according to Prof. Dr. Lüscher.  \nAdditionally\, she has worked for several years at the IAK Congresses in Kirchzarten-Freiburg and the former “for! (ju:) ®” Institute (research and youth work)\, teaching specialized seminars for teachers and social workers in the youth sector.  \nHer goal is to communicate Kinesiology in a simple and understandable manner\, spreading knowledge about Kinesiology to where it can be most effectively utilized.  \n  \nConnecting to your genetics and Connecting to your clients \n \nCheirology is the study of the hand\, it is studies the relationship between the shapes and patterns of the human hand and the personality and character traits of the person.  \nIn my years of teaching blueprint. I got to really know\, love and most importantly value cheirology.  \nIn the early years\, I never realised how beneficial cheirology could be to me\, my students or my clients. In teaching Blueprint and seeing so many hands my brain just wanted to know more\, and more\, and more… \nI was extremely lucky to have Andrew D. Verity\, as well as his father Andrew E. Verity\, as a mentor. Over the years\, my knowledge of cheirology naturally developed. That was turned into a workshop call “Language of the Hand” (partly thanks to Gudrun Lauterbach who convinced me that I should do it). \n I developed this workshop to give people a basic understanding of cheirlogy\, since in Blueprint there is not a lot of time to go into it deeper\, but students get very easily intrigued and want to know more. For me that makes so much sense. Off course they want to know more\, they intrinsically / innately want to know more about themselves and cheirology is a very good way to do that.  \nKnowing more about their hands gives an insight into yourselves\, that is harder to get any other way. It gives an understanding\, an aha moment. Your subconscious loves it when you learn more about yourself and loves to find ways that allows you ease up on yourself. Give yourself a break.  \nOne way of getting to know yourself\, is getting more familiar with the shape of your hand. In cheirology we see this as the largest context we have\, the shape of your hand represents your psyche. In my presentation I will be talking about at least 4 of those basic shapes. In you learning those shapes\, you quite often already learn something about yourself. Mostly not something new\, it is your genetics\, you know innately about it\, but you might have not been aware of it consciously or heard it out loud.  \nAnd that out loud tends to be a large part of why I think cheirology works. Sometimes you need to hear it to make it go “click” . Therefore “Connecting to your genetics”.  \nKnowing these shapes can\, in turn\, help your clients. Hence the “Connecting to your clients”. If you understand their shape (and your own) it makes connecting to them easier. \n Join me to get an insight to Chirology and how you can connect your genetics and how you can connect with your clients. \n
