SUMMARY:March 2026 – Cup of Coffee with Dra. Katha Jones
DESCRIPTION:Why Human Skills Are The Hard Currency of Modern Leadership: The Four-Quadrant Model of Social and Emotional Intelligence\nDate:  5th March 2026 \nTime:  10-11am (CST Merida)| 17:00–18:00 CET | 18:00–19:00 SAST | 00:00–01:00 AWST \nBook your PLACE here \nThis one-hour introductory talk with Dra. Katha Jones provides an overview of the Four-Quadrant Model of Social and Emotional Intelligence\, setting the foundation for the deeper exploration in a 3-hour workshop scheduled for 28 April\, “Courageous Leadership During Uncertain Times: How Emotional Intelligence Boosts Mental & Emotional Resilience.” \nThe Four-Quadrant Model of social and emotional intelligence\, developed by Daniel Goleman and others\, functions as a framework to assess and improve your emotional intelligence (EQ) by balancing internal (self) and external (others) awareness with action. It helps individuals understand their own intrinsic emotions and manage personal and professional relationships with increased emotional self-awareness\, empathy\, compassion\, mental agility and personal power. \nThis model is divided into ‘personal competencies’ such as emotional self-awareness\, self-management and personal power and ‘social competencies’ which determine how we handle relationships during times of stress and limited resources. The latter strongly influence our communication and leadership styles and interactions with the people we work with or are responsible for. Research consistently shows that organizations that prioritize communication\, empathy\, active listening\, emotional intelligence and conscious leadership experience stronger collaboration\, lower staff turnover\, and greater mental and emotional resilience. ‘Soft skills’ are now the human edge and most durable competitive advantage needed in a constantly changing\, uncertain and volatile business world. \nEmotional Intelligence is our ability to recognize\, understand\, manage and effectively express one’s emotions in our personal and professional relationships. It is the capacity to effectively interact with others by understanding and managing their emotions. EI plays a significant role in our personal and professional relationships\, decision-making process\, and overall mental and emotional well-being. \nThis promises to be a highly informative and engaging session\, offering practical insights into emotional intelligence\, leadership and more – please join us! \n \n\nDra. Katha Jones is the Founder/CEO of the International Institute of Kinesiology Australia (IIKA)\, Kinesiopractor®\, Senior Faculty Member of the International College of Professional Kinesiology Practice (ICPKP) and an IASK Board Member. She has been teaching the accredited ICPKP- Diploma program\, alternative medicine courses and personal development trainings in Sydney\, Australia for 28 years. In 2019\, she founded the International Institute of Emotional Intelligence\, a global coaching company delivering leadership development and team coaching. She is an eminent neuroscience-trained leadership coach and international expert in social and emotional intelligence\, advanced creative-problem solving processes\, and the science of natural ‘flow states’ that optimize our performance in life. Over the last 10 years\, she has facilitated transformational training programs and coaching engagements around the world. Her award-winning book ‘Think Outside The Box: Tap Into Your Creative Genius Zone & Solve Problems Fast’\, is a groundbreaking work delving into the latest research of neuroscience about neuroplasticity\, amygdala hijack prevention\, and improving your leadership styles with emotional intelligence and executive presence.www.kathajonesauthor.com \nBook your PLACE HERE \n

SUMMARY:June 2025 – Cup of Coffee with Marianne Henne
DESCRIPTION:Working with Context & System\n\nTime:            15:00 CEST\nDate:             5th June 2025\nDuration:    1 hour\n\n  \nBook your spot here \n\nAbout the Presentation\nWith over 25 years of running my clinic\, I’ve learned that knowledge is key to success. I treat about 30 clients weekly\, and my appointment waiting list is now over six weeks long. \nOriginally\, educated within economics\, I seek structure. I`ve tried to find that in all that I`ve learned in massage techniques and kinesiology. \nI have developed a system that I use to test all my clients\, and it has demonstrated over a 95% match with online data for accuracy.  \nThe system offers numerous opportunities to find all the recommended information. \nIt’s quite simple build up; consisting of 5 major groups: \n\n– Context\n– Emotional\n– Mental\n– Physical\n– Better neurological options (corrections)\n\nThe inspiration urging me to build this system is the triangle\, learned already in “Touch for Health”. Easy but effective! \nThe secret though\, is the amount of information in the 5 groups. The contexts\, on it`s own\, is nearly 1000 possibilities\, each designed to cover a wide range of scenarios and individual client needs. By addressing these diverse contexts\, the system ensures that every aspect of a client’s condition is thoroughly examined and accurately assessed. \nThe Emotional group delves into the various psychological and emotional states that can impact a person’s well-being. This includes examining stress levels\, mood patterns\, and emotional triggers\, all of which play a crucial role in overall health. \nThe Mental group focuses on cognitive functions and processes. It assesses aspects such as memory\, attention\, and problem-solving abilities\, providing valuable insights into a client’s mental health. It also contains a variety of self-sabotage patterns. \nThe Physical group evaluates the body’s structural and functional aspects\, from posture and movement to strength and flexibility. This comprehensive analysis helps identify physical imbalances or areas that require attention. \nFinally\, the Better Neurological Options group\, or corrections\, offers targeted interventions to enhance the neurological pathways\, promoting better communication between the brain and body. These corrections are tailored to each client’s unique needs\, ensuring optimal results. \nTogether\, these five groups create a holistic system that is both thorough and adaptable\, making it an invaluable tool for anyone looking to achieve better health and well-being.  \nMy dedication to the field extends beyond my own practice; I have been actively involved in the broader kinesiology community\, contributing to its growth and development. Over the years\, I have conducted numerous workshops and seminars\, sharing my knowledge and expertise with aspiring therapists worldwide. \n  \nAbout Marie Henne:\nI have developed a system that I use to test all my clients\, and it has demonstrated over a 95% match with online data for accuracy.\nThe system offers numerous opportunities to find all the recommended information. It’s quite simple build up; consisting of 5 major\ngroups. \n  \nRegister Now to Reserve Your Spot! \n  \nBook your spot here \nAny questions about this Cup of Coffee you can Contact Us at membership@iask.org

SUMMARY:March 2025 – Cup of Coffee with Melanie Bennett
DESCRIPTION:THE JOURNEY OF SPECIALISED KINESIOLOGY IN SOUTH AFRICA\nDate: 6th March 2025 \nTime: 9am CET \nBook your spot here \nAbout the Presentation\nJoin us for an insightful journey into the evolution of Specialised Kinesiology training in South Africa. We’ll explore: \n\nThe foundational influence of Gudrun Lauterbach\, whose dedication ensured our training remained true to the original workshop teachings.\nThe impact of international instructors—Andrew Verity\, Coby Schasfoort\, Kyra Gaasbeek\, Evelyne Rupp\, and Marco Rado—who brought their expertise to South Africa.\nHow the arrival of the internet allowed us to connect with global teachers and expand our kinesiology toolkit.\n\nThe Hierarchy of Needs Chart\nGudrun Lauterbach developed “The Hierarchy of Needs Chart”\, an advanced tool based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. This expanded framework provides deep insights into client patterns and behaviors\, helping practitioners: \n✅ Identify unmet needs at the root of emotional and physical challenges\n✅ Recognize the “bounce” effect—how a single shift can break limitations\n✅ Understand resulting patterns and how to transform them \nAn essential addition to any kinesiologist’s toolbox! \nAbout Melanie Bennett\nMy journey into Specialised Kinesiology began in 1992 with a life-changing moment\, I developed eczema overnight after a phone call. At a fair\, I met Harold Bliss\, who was demonstrating Touch for Health (TFH). He explained: \n“The front of the body represents present time\, the back represents the past\, the left side represents female\, and the right side represents male.” \nThat insight hooked me instantly! \nSince then\, I have: \n\nTrained with Gudrun Lauterbach in 3-in-1 Concepts\nStudied with every instructor and workshop available\nDeveloped a passion for integrating knowledge and using MUP to access a client’s context\nTaught TFH\, Neuro Training\, Gudrun’s workshops\, and NK – Brain & Physiology Formatting & Finger Modes\n\nJoin me to explore our South African journey in Specialised Kinesiology! \n  \nBook your spot here \n

SUMMARY:November 2024 – Cup of Coffee with Kyra Gaasbeek
DESCRIPTION:Connecting to your genetics and Connecting to your clients using cheirology traits💫 \nby Kyra Gaasbeek \nKyra\, born in the Netherlands\, was introduced to Kinesiology at the age of 12 by her mother\, a seasoned physical therapist and kinesiologist. Despite the limited recognition of Kinesiology at the time\, Kyra pursued a career in occupational therapy and psychiatry before rediscovering her passion for Kinesiology through Andrew D. Verity in Australia. She completed her training in NeuroTraining and began teaching Kinesiology seminars globally. Alongside Kinesiology\, Kyra also delved into other therapeutic modalities like Cranio-sacral therapy and Trauma therapy. She developed a strong interest in Cheirology\, the study of the hand’s shape and its relation to personality\, and created the “Language of the Hand” workshop to help individuals and clients understand themselves better through their genetic traits. Kyra’s goal is to communicate Kinesiology in a clear\, accessible way and to connect both practitioners and clients to their intrinsic knowledge. \nBook your place here \n  \nMore About Kyra \nKyra\, born in Winterswijk\, the Netherlands\, was only 12 years old when she was first introduced into the world of Kinesiology. Guided by her mother\, a physical therapist for 50 years\, as well as a kinesiologist for at least 30 of those years\, she received her initial training in this field.  \nKyra accompanied her mother to all seminars\, serving as her “guinea pig\,” which provided her with intense first-hand experiences in the field.  \nHowever\, she also witnessed that Kinesiology wasn’t widely recognized as a therapy by society at the time\, despite her mother’s expertise. Consequently\, she decided to pursue a career as an occupational therapist and worked in psychiatry\, experiences that continue to be invaluable to her to this day. \nAfter studying Social Work in Enschede\, Kyra moved to Australia at the age of 22\, where she spent a year studying psychology. It was through Andrew D. Verity\, a Kinesiologist\, Naturopath\, and NLP trainer\, that she rediscovered her passion for Kinesiology. She completed a full education in “Educating Alternatives” (now NeuroTraining) and assisted Andrew during his courses in Australia and Europe. Soon\, she began translating for him\, uncovering her love for teaching in the process.  \nIn 1995\, Kyra started teaching Kinesiology seminars\, initially in “Blueprint” following Andrew Verity’s methods\, and later added many other Workshops in various  countries (Australia\, Germany\, Belgium\, Switzerland\, Norway\, Spain\, Italy\, South Africa). She also teaches seminars in RESET TMJ® 1 and 2 (based on Philip Rafferty’s methods). \nAs a translator\, she delves into other therapeutic modalities such as Cranio-sacral therapy (part of Osteopathy)\, Trauma therapy (based on Dr. Francine Shapiro’s work)\, and has extensively studied Color Diagnostics according to Prof. Dr. Lüscher.  \nAdditionally\, she has worked for several years at the IAK Congresses in Kirchzarten-Freiburg and the former “for! (ju:) ®” Institute (research and youth work)\, teaching specialized seminars for teachers and social workers in the youth sector.  \nHer goal is to communicate Kinesiology in a simple and understandable manner\, spreading knowledge about Kinesiology to where it can be most effectively utilized.  \n  \nConnecting to your genetics and Connecting to your clients \n \nCheirology is the study of the hand\, it is studies the relationship between the shapes and patterns of the human hand and the personality and character traits of the person.  \nIn my years of teaching blueprint. I got to really know\, love and most importantly value cheirology.  \nIn the early years\, I never realised how beneficial cheirology could be to me\, my students or my clients. In teaching Blueprint and seeing so many hands my brain just wanted to know more\, and more\, and more… \nI was extremely lucky to have Andrew D. Verity\, as well as his father Andrew E. Verity\, as a mentor. Over the years\, my knowledge of cheirology naturally developed. That was turned into a workshop call “Language of the Hand” (partly thanks to Gudrun Lauterbach who convinced me that I should do it). \n I developed this workshop to give people a basic understanding of cheirlogy\, since in Blueprint there is not a lot of time to go into it deeper\, but students get very easily intrigued and want to know more. For me that makes so much sense. Off course they want to know more\, they intrinsically / innately want to know more about themselves and cheirology is a very good way to do that.  \nKnowing more about their hands gives an insight into yourselves\, that is harder to get any other way. It gives an understanding\, an aha moment. Your subconscious loves it when you learn more about yourself and loves to find ways that allows you ease up on yourself. Give yourself a break.  \nOne way of getting to know yourself\, is getting more familiar with the shape of your hand. In cheirology we see this as the largest context we have\, the shape of your hand represents your psyche. In my presentation I will be talking about at least 4 of those basic shapes. In you learning those shapes\, you quite often already learn something about yourself. Mostly not something new\, it is your genetics\, you know innately about it\, but you might have not been aware of it consciously or heard it out loud.  \nAnd that out loud tends to be a large part of why I think cheirology works. Sometimes you need to hear it to make it go “click” . Therefore “Connecting to your genetics”.  \nKnowing these shapes can\, in turn\, help your clients. Hence the “Connecting to your clients”. If you understand their shape (and your own) it makes connecting to them easier. \n Join me to get an insight to Chirology and how you can connect your genetics and how you can connect with your clients. \n

SUMMARY:June 2024 – Cup of Coffee with Amy Choi
DESCRIPTION:Kinesiology and the Ancient Connection \nMa Wang Dui Daoyin Exercises and the 12 Meridians \nby Amy Choi \n6th June 2024 \n12:00 CEST / 12pm CEST \nAmy Choi is a full-time kinesiologist with over 25 years of experience in teaching\, publishing and private sessions.  Being one of the founders and directors of Brain Body Centre Ltd. (Hong Kong). She has dedicated her life career to this work!  Her love of Touch for Health® and Brain Gym® has led her to become a faculty member of both the International Kinesiology College (IKC) and Breakthroughs International (BTi). \nShe also discovered her own way of balancing the client with what she now calls Ming’s Mirror Method\, a highly intuitive way of listening\, moving and balancing.   She has also developed a series of workshops under Ming’s Mirror Kinesiology\, namely the Authentic Self Series\, and the Qigong Movement Balancing Series. \nBeing a pioneer in the integration of qigong and kinesiology techniques\, Amy is bringing ancient techniques into modern applications\, to improve the physiological and psychological well-being of the human mind-body system. \nShe holds several IKC service awards and also awards in qigong tournaments.  Her balancing style is known for being highly intuitive\, flexible and agile\, and her teaching style is interesting and easy to understand. \nShe has taught extensively in China and Japan\, and she has also taught in Europe and the United States.  She has organized six regional conferences in China and has sponsored the first online international kinesiology conference in China in 2023. \nYou are welcome to come and meet Amy for this exciting talk. \nBook your place here 🙂\n\nKinesiology and the Ancient Connection\nMa Wang Dui Daoyin Exercises and the 12 Meridians\nKinesiology comes from the Greek root word kinesis.  It means ‘the study of movement’.  The term is also used by contemporary practitioners to describe various forms of educational and wellness-maintenance tools that use muscle response testing (biofeedback) to help identify “imbalances” in the mind-body system\, and thereby attempts to restore balance and wellness through various means of intervention such as movements and reflex stimulation. \nThe ancient Chinese people have long used movements to maintain health and have created exercises that combine body movement and breathing\, namely Daoyin\, meaning guiding and drawing.  The so-called called Daoyin is also known as  “Daoyinxingqi”(i.e. guiding and drawing and moving energy) or “Xingqi”(i.e. moving energy).   It has two important parts: “guiding the breath/qi to create harmony” and “guiding the body to create flexibility”.  Daoyin exercises are the early forms of what we now call qigong. \nIn this one-hour presentation\, Amy Choi will share with you a set of 12 Daoyin exercises based on a colour silk scroll painting unearthed in 1973 in Changsha\, Hunan Province\, China\, from the Ma Wang Dui tomb of the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD).  This silk scroll depicts what people China did about 2\,000 years ago in their effort to heal disease and restore health. Developed by contemporary experts from the Chinese Health Qigong Association in China\, this set of exercises can be done as a daily routine within 20 minutes. \nAmy will also play with these exercises and will help you notice the before-and-after by guiding your way through your 14 muscles\, Touch for Health style. \nAt the end of the presentation\, Amy will talk about her course ‘To Live A Flowing Life – Ma Wang Dui Qigong Metaphor Balances’ under Ming’s Mirror Kinesiology.  Amy is looking for interested parties who would like to sponsor or co-sponsor the course.  Amy’s contact: info@brainbodycentre.com. \nBook your place here 🙂

SUMMARY:September - IASK Cup of Coffee with Heidi Johnson
DESCRIPTION:Join us in this free event where Heidi Johnson will tell us about EMMETT Technique\, which is a light touch Neuromuscular technique\, and how she integrates it as corrections in Kinesiology treatments. \nA bit about Heidi \nBorn and raised in KwaZulu Natal in South Africa\, I grew up loving animals and the outdoors and what nature had to offer us as humans. My late Grandmother was Doctor of Homeopathy and Osteopathy. I loved her passion for holistic and complementary medicines\, and as I grew older\, I too found I had a love for these modalities and what they had to offer. \nAt home we live as much of a holistic life as possible in today’s world and have always turned to the alternate modalities for help or direction with regards to our health. \nI started off with Equine Body work in 2009\, alongside studying animal behavior. In 2017 I started my Kinesiology journey with Touch For Health and then continued on to study Neuro-training\, Emotional Kinesiology and Equine Energy Medicine. I’ve used the BEMER blanket and TENs machine for the past 12 years and have seen the amazing results in both humans and animals. I’ve added Photonic Red-light therapy\, to expand my “tools” and what I have to offer. In July 2019 my thirst for knowledge and skill saw me studying the EMMETT technique. In 2021 I started studying Homeopathy through The School of Homeopathy in the UK. \nI am a registered member of the International Institute of Complementary Therapies (IICT) and the Association of Specialised Kinesiologists South Africa (ASKSA)\, International Equine Body Workers Association (IEBWA)\, EMMETT Technique Practitioner (Horse\, Human & Dog) & Instructor/Tutor (Horse\, Human & Dog) and International Association of Specialized Kinesiologists (IASK). \nOwning and breeding our own horses on our farm in Drakensberg\, South Africa\, where we had an Appaloosa horse trail business\, I was exposed to many injuries and illnesses in horses\, as our horses were in large herds on the side of the mountain. Over the years we developed many of our own techniques and training methods and incorporated them with the many I had learnt from others. I treated our animals myself\, unless it was a case that was beyond my capability. \nNow living in Australia my aim is to both educate and  to help people and animals reach their optimal potential\, whilst still been able to help others around the world via online and distance sessions and courses. I teach the EMMETT 4 Animals (Horse & Dog) courses in both Australia and South Africa\, as well as the EMM Tech (human short course). \nI can be contacted at: \n\nWebsite: https://www.intuneanimalsandhumans.com\nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/IntuneAnimalsAndHumans/\nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/intune_animals_and_humans/\nLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/heidi-johnson-0945651a1\nE-mail: intune.animals.humans@gmail.com\n\n  \nRead more about Heidi \n  \nReserve your spot here.

SUMMARY:October - IASK Cup of Coffee
DESCRIPTION:“Be Successful as a Kinesiologist – using value words to guide you” \nWe all start learning kinesiology and are ecstatic about how it works. We participate in workshop after workshop\, adding technique on technique and feel passionate about what we do. However\, in order to allow ourselves to work with these wonderful kinesiology tools we actually need clients! How can we open our doors to more clients? \nIn this Cup of Coffee we will focus on how to put our touch in the way we create our practice space and take decisions about our kinesiology business. \nGrowing our clinic means to actually treat our kinesiology practice as a business and as a platform for our passion. By knowing and respecting our values we will know how to let them guide us towards acquiring new clients and feel accomplished with our work. \nWith Emma Acquarone and Sabine Rosen \nReserve your spot now
