SUMMARY:November 2023 – IASK Cup of Coffee with Lee-Anne MacLeod
DESCRIPTION:Balancing the Vagus Nerve \nA 15 year Clinical Research Study \nBy Lee-Anne MacLeod \nSpecialist Level 6 Kinesiologist\, Australia \nIASK Board Member \n \nThe Vagus Nerve is considered the ‘reset button’ for the flight / fight / freeze reflex\, also our stress / hyper-arousal response\, as it blocks the hormone cortisol along with other inflammatory and oxidising agents which deteriorate the brain and body\, ageing us. This helps us build resilience and supports to all levels of our health. \nAccording to Orthomolecular Health\, a properly balanced Vagus Nerve supports our being and body as follows: \n\nActs to turn down allergic responses\nHelps overcome depression and anxiety\nTurns on neurogenesis\, helping our brains sprout new cells and sharpens our memory\nHelps us to reduce high blood pressure\nBlocks systemic (body-wide) inflammation – a major factor behind poor health and fights inflammatory disease\nDigestive System regulation\nHelps us sleep better\nRaises levels of human growth hormone (HTH)\nHelps overcome insulin resistance\nAffects our overall ability to live longer\, healthier and more energetic lives\nHelps maintain our mitochondria – a key to maintaining optimal energy levels and protecting DNA and RNA\n\nAfter clinically researching and working with the Vagus Nerve since 2005\, I have found that people who have well Balanced and maintained Vagus Nerves\, have better self-regulation\, are more positively motivated emotionally and rarely succumb to stress. \nJoin me on a inspiring journey as we balance the Vagus Nerve together. \nClick here to reserve your place now. \nZoom Link

SUMMARY:EXPANDING HORIZONS – KINESIOLOGY IN DEPTH 5.0
DESCRIPTION:7th International Conference of the Hungarian Kinesiology Foundation – HKF\n(with Hungarian translation from English)\nParticipation fee: 50 Euros \nRegister with:  Zsuzsanna Köves via email at koveszsuzsa@gmail.com \n(recordings of talks will be available for replay)\nWe look forward to welcoming you! \nOn behalf of the HKF leadership: \nZsuzsanna Köves \n \n*********************** \nSee our exciting speaker timeline here:- \n15:00-16:00 MARCO RADO \nOne Muscle for all 5 Elements \nIn our body we have a muscle that is connected to all 5 elements\, that plays a major role in our emotional life. This muscle is connected to the sternum\, the pericardium and the diaphragm. Balancing this muscle it’s a powerful somatic-emotional work: we can unlock long seeded emotional imbalances and “open our heart” to new positive attitude. Marco will show how to balance this very little known\, but very important muscle.I have not really given my pelvic floor\, or anyone else’s\, much thought. However\, recently\, I’ve seen a lot of hype about it online. The first time I saw the word “muscles” at the end of the term “pelvic floor”\, a light went off! As a Touch for Health Instructor/Consultant\, I know about muscles! I am clear on the fact that one can’t test these muscles in the usual way\, but I know how to test muscles of the eyes and ears using surrogates so…why not the pelvic floor??? \n16:00-17:00 DARCY LEWIS \nPelvic Floor Muscle: How to Balance Them Using Surrogate Muscles \nI have not really given my pelvic floor\, or anyone else’s\, much thought. \n17:30-18:30 ROBERT FROST \nReactive Muscles \nReactivity is an important issue in the development of musculoskeletal deformities and various pains. The technique derived from Applied Kinesiology\, such as Touch For Health has adopted it. Dr. Frost\, an expert in back pain\, presents in his lecture how reactivity testing and balancing can reduce and eliminate various back pain. \n18:30-19:30 MATTHEW THIE \nPalaces of Transformation: Selected TFH Acupoint Metaphors \nIn TFH we use a variety of actual acupuncture points\, such as K27\, or Switching points\, Alarm Points\, Acupressure Holding Points\, and Luo Points. Each of these points may have various names from Chinese Medicine. Considering these names allows us to creatively consider the symbolic meanings when we use the points. This expands awareness and amplifies the benefits of balancing. \n19:30-20:30 GAIL DENNISON & DON WETSEL \nThe Lifelong Gift of Vision \nPaul and Gail Dennison will show how the act of reading can support or inhibit the development of visual skills. The Dennison’s will share some of their latest discoveries about the relationship of vision and movement to visual convergence\, spatial awareness\, and whole-body stability/mobility. As a group\, we’ll explore how\, at any age\, we can use the Brain Gym(R)\, Vision Gym\, or Movement Dynamics\, to expand our spatial and proprioceptive awareness\, enlivening our visual/kinaesthetic sphere. \n
